My creative journey
I have been passionate about photography since I was a boy. I would find whatever I could to photograph in the countryside around my house, while chasing after my whippet. Sometimes I would photograph the whippet.
At art college I saved every penny I could to travel and explore with my camera. That was the beginning of my love affair with travel and pictures.
For many years however, my creative life was focussed on design. I studied graphic design first in Cornwall and then in Denmark. Back in London I worked in various design studios until I discovered that my real fascination with design was the combination with photography.
I lived in Kathmandu for three years working as a travel photographer and exploring the greater wilderness of the Himalayas. My assignments led me to some of the remotest parts of the region, including China, Pakistan, Nepal, India, Bhutan and Myanmar (Burma). I have worked for a variety of clients and travel magazines including National Geographic Adventure and GEO Special. I was also a finalist in the 2009 Travel Photographer of the Year competition. I now live and work as a Photographer and Graphic Designer in London.
Enjoy, and thanks for looking, Alex
