Photographer and design consultant, Nepal

In 2008 I was assigned to re-brand ICIMOD, The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development, based in Kathmandu, Nepal. I established an entirely new set of branding materials and guidelines for the organisation. I also traveled to the furthest reaches of the Himalayas, in all eight of ICIMOD’s member countries, to build a comprehensive library of photography. Some of the images were short-listed in the renowned ‘Travel Photographer of the Year’ competition.

Other projects during this time included creating the visual identity for the Great Himalaya Trail Development Programme, supported by SNV. I also redesigned the overall look and design materials for The Last Resort in Nepal and worked on various other photography assignments for magazines such as GEO Special and Action Asia.

London, UK

I set up my own design business on London’s southbank. During this time some of my projects included re-branding GIA, a leading Rights of Light specialist in the UK. I created the branding for Cityscape, the world’s leading architectural 3D company. And I also re-branded Goddard Gadd, one of the UK’s leading recruitment consultants to the media industry which included creating a portfolio of photography.

Design consultant

I art directed a major music release by the artist “Mitchell & Dewbury” for Jazz FM. I also spent six months working in house for Bristol based E3 Media to redevelop the entire “Products and services” section of Orange.com.

Working under often extreme conditions in the physically challenging and politically unsettled areas of the Himalayas, Mr Treadway developed a valuable collection of world class images

Alex produced a collection of images that far exceeded our expectations. Not only technically excellent, his photos succeeded in catching the feel of the healthcare scene, the atmosphere of caring that NSI tries to engender
